Ventured new start in spite of difficult times

To compete with the lot of already existing machinery dealers, it is important to be specialized in defined matters. WOMA has started at second hand machinery market with lathes for wood turners. By these machine not only stair spindles and chair legs are produced but also wooden toys, plates, shafts, handles and much more. „But for turners it’s a hard time at the moment. There happens a price fight. Mostly they get only some cents per piece for their high-grade work.” explains Daniel Köhler the present situation.

„That’s why we need a second income.“ The bright idea they got during their visit on exhibition InterBrush 2008. Paint brush handles, brush and brooms blocks… Suddenly wood processing was only one theme of many. Within a few weeks the first copying shapers were published on WOMA’s website. With building up customer contacts first bristle processing machines are offered step by step. „Our network is still in process. But the feedback of our customers is consistently positive. We are the only second hand machinery dealer in Europe who cares for the relative small brush industry. But here hides a high capability. Brushes and brooms are always needed!“

Even if the new start is slown down by the finance crises, Mr. and Mrs. Köhler look on the bright sight. Even in difficult times not only small medium enterprises buy second hand equipment but also big concerns. Especially in brush manufacturing the producers prefer approved technology.

In October last year WOMA could move into its new warehouse. On a floor of 450 qm this modern stock house offers the best conditions for dealing and reconditioning of second hand machinery. The new building is located on an estate of 2.500 qm where expansion of stock space is possible anytime. Big pros of the new location are the good traffic connection and the ideal position in a completely developed business park.
